Barlo has recently completed a brand refresh for engineering consultancy SCD Consulting. Sean Drudy has worked successfully in the industry for over 30 years and wanted to create a fresh dynamic look and feel for the practise. Barlo has also successfully partnered SCD on many design and build projects through the years - so they were well know to us!
The new brand identity we developed took it’s roots in angled shapes and forms which are central to SCD’s work as structural engineers. We created an abstract icon for the brand and incorporated the monikers SCD in the icon. The colour palette chosen was a vibrant ochre mixed with subtle warm greys. We used colour and colour tones to depict the individual letters in the icon shape. We developed bespoke sans serif type delivered in different weights to capture the company name and descriptor. The accompanying typeface used for communications was Roboto.
The new logo is a modern, fresh depiction reflecting the businesses ambitions and history.
