The design team at Barlo was tasked with developing a modern office space within a 1960's warehouse at Irish Distillers bottling plant Fox & Geese, Dublin.
From the outset, we wanted to develop a space that reflected the building heritage/fabric and capture its warehouse character. From here we needed to develop a comfortable open and engaging space which would maximise team integration and collaboration. Our solution embraced old industrial with modern fixtures and furnishings all tied together with vibrant branding.
Delivering this mix of industrial and modern fit for purpose office can be seen with the ceiling and mechanical and electrical services left exposed. These hard industrial elements were countered by warm timber furniture design and a fabric ducting air conditioning system. The colour scheme was left in muted colours to allow the colour of the brand design to lift the space.
A bespoke glazed pod was developed as a breakout meeting space which reflected the free flowing open plan arrangement and also the essence of the facility - 'the bottle'. Another open breakout space was developed with a packaging theme again reflecting the nature of the work carried out in Fox & Geese.
